Global warming seems to make a lot of parties to be more careful in their policy which impact on the environment, as well as in choosing a cell phone. According to recent research conducted by O2, 44 per cent of consumers claim that environmental factors influenced them in choosing the phone that they will use. Then what the phones in an environmentally safe and not environmentally friendly?
As quoted by the website of The Telegraph, O2 has been sorted. Apparently, most environment-friendly mobile phones are the phones from Sony Ericsson and Nokia.
Sony Ericsson Elm ranks first in the list of the most environmentally friendly phone , with a score of 4.3 from eco rating maximum score 5. While other phones are also environmentally friendly is the Nokia 6700 (scored 4), Nokia C7 (4), Nokia 1800 (4), the Samsung GT-S8500 (4), Sony Ericsson Zylo (4), Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Pro Mini (4), Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini (4), and Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro (3.9).

Scores were even, all based on data supplied by each mobile phone maker, ranging from materials they use, the approximate age of the device, energy efficiency, and convenience that mobile phones for recycling.
Each handset will get more points, when it has additional features like cameras or music players, so users do not need to buy a separate electronic device. In addition, the points are also given based on the ethical performance of the company’s mobile phone maker, principles of environmental and labor standards in their supply network.
“Consumers are now increasingly aware of social and environmental effects of a technology they purchase, and we believe that transparency in products such as this will help them to make piling more ‘green’,” said Ronan Dunne, chief executive of O2 to the Telegraph.
Up to now no fewer than four billion mobile phones used around the world. It is estimated that the phones had produced more than 100 tons of carbon footprint (carbon footprint) of each year.
